Asma is a Partner of the firm in London. She is responsible for operations in Europe and the Middle East and manages major client accounts across these regions. Asma has significant experience in providing immigration advice and assistance to businesses ranging from banking, manufacturing, oil and gas, engineering, financial and professional services.
Asma has particular expertise in respect of all matters relating to the Points Based System (PBS) and has supported many companies through the License application process. She advises companies on required compliance, monitoring and record keeping obligations. Asma has participated in government panels and consulted with key government stakeholders on a number of significant policy matters. She also represents companies in government lobby exercises. Asma is a committee member of the Association of Regulated Immigration Advisors and speaks regularly at conferences and events. Asma is also a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners Association.
Asma also regularly provides advice to companies, HR professionals and global mobility teams on policies and procedures related to immigration obligations. Prior to commencing work at Newland Chase, Asma was a Department Manager at one of the largest City Law firms in the world where she managed a team of five fee earners and also at an exclusive US immigration law firm.
Kathryn qualified as a Legal Practitioner in Australia in 2001. She specialised in Australian corporate immigration at a Big 4 accounting firm in Sydney before becoming a UK immigration adviser in London in 2004. Her practice includes advising a diverse range of corporate and individual clients on UK immigration matters including the Points Based System. Kathryn also has specialist expertise in dealing with complex immigration matters and is a regular speaker at conferences and events. Kathryn is a trainer for the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association and is an experienced presenter in the UK immigration field.
Gillian has over 10 years experience within the immigration field and has serviced both corporate clients and individuals. She has assumed responsibility of large client accounts development and management in all cases. Gillian specialises in the Points Based System and advises on a full range of immigration matters including complex applications and grounds of appeal. Gillian obtained her degree from Port Elizabeth University in South Africa and has also completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Law from London. She has extensive skills and knowledge in both Uk and global immigration. Gillian has gained her experience at working with well recognised and leading law firms in London prior to joining Newland Chase.
Steven is a UK qualified solicitor and has managed a varied portfolio of both UK and Global immigration clients ranging from large programme accounts clients to private high net worth individuals. Steven frequently speaks at external business events and writes regular articles for immigration publications worldwide. Steven provides expertise as Co Counsel through his own independent operations.
Zafar has a Masters Degree in Business and has practised global immigration for more than 10 years advising on countries such as Libya, Algeria, China, India, Singapore and other destinations worldwide. Zafar works with many multinational companies and handles complex business immigration applications, including transferring large groups of individuals for project work on an expedited basis.
Rahul has over five years business immigration experience and has assisted multinational corporations, senior executives and investors relocating to the United Kingdom. Rahul has worked for two of the Big 4 Accounting Firms and a large law firm practising business immigration. Rahul has experience in strategic immigration planning for large organisations and assists international assignment departments and human resources managers.
Rahul is actively involved with the economic migration sub-committee of the Immigration Lawyers Practitioners’ Association and writes regularly on UK immigration law.
Rahul is a dual qualified lawyer licensed to practice in India and the UK and holds a LL.M from Cardiff University.
Sophie has over 10 years experience advising clients on all kinds of European applications including France, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Spain. Sophie has a degree from a premier business school and is highly experienced in this field. Sophie frequently lobbies with the French Ministry of Labour and has established relationships to ensure expedited services within the European regions.
Heidi has a Masters Degree in Law from Durham University and specialises exclusively in investment between the UK and China. Heidi has experience of working within the Chinese government and also having worked with the China Embassy in London in their expedited visa department. In addition, Heidi assists graduates with career coaching and assessment centre training advice. Heidi also engages in pro bono work for international students and is a passionate piano player.
Martin attained a BA degree in History from Warwick University and manages the coordination of global immigration for large and medium size companies to the Asia Pacific and European regions. Martin works on client implementation projects and is responsible for developing and maintaining our extensive knowledge base. Martin is also a keen guitar player and enjoys writing and performing music.
Julie practises US immigration and has over five years experience working on a variety of cases exclusively in US immigration, from large corporate accounts to assisting private individuals. Julie has worked on several client engagements providing thorough immigration advisory and work permit services. Julie’s prior immigration experience was gained at a magic circle law firm in London and the US. Julie works with us as Co Counsel through her own independent operations.
Jose specialises in all aspects of relocation and immigration to South America including Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Peru, Mexico and Chile. He also advises on global visas to countries such as the Middle East, India and Russia. Jose obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Essex in European Studies and Economics and is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
